Ukraine, US discuss security guarantees in second round of talks — report

The closed-door Ukraine-US talks in Jeddah are lasting about six hours so far

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Ukrainian and US negotiating teams are discussing security guarantees for Kiev during their second round of talks in Saudi Arabia, a Ukrainian news outlet called Obshchestvennoye. Novosti reported, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The first round of talks earlier on Tuesday was focused on the possibility of a ceasefire in air and at sea and the minerals deal, according to the source.

The closed-door Ukraine-US talks in Jeddah are lasting about six hours so far. The sides took a break after the first four hours. The US team is led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz. Ukraine is represented by Vladimir Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, Foreign Minister Andrey Sybiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
