Ukraine’s fortifications compromised in two months without US intelligence — US expert

US President Donald Trump suspended military assistance to Ukraine several days after his verbal spat with Vladimir Zelensky during the latter’s visit to the United States on February 28

WASHINGTON, March 11. /TASS/. Ukraine will lose its previously fortified positions within two months due to the lack of American intelligence data, a US analyst said on Tuesday.

"Even with the stockpiles of weapons Ukraine has, they will have to reduce their level of operations in a couple of weeks," Mark Cancian, a senior adviser in the defense and security department of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS, designated as an undesirable organization in Russia) told The Washington Post daily.

"And without strategic and tactical intelligence, we are looking at the Ukrainians having close to two months left before Ukrainian lines begin to buckle at one of the many fronts they are fighting," Cancian, a retired US Marine Corps colonel, added.

US President Donald Trump suspended military assistance to Ukraine several days after his verbal spat with Vladimir Zelensky during the latter’s visit to the United States on February 28.

This decision took effect the morning of March 4 and applies to all US military equipment not currently in Ukraine, including weapons on planes and ships or awaiting shipment in transit zones in Poland.

US special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff told the Fox News Television on March 10 that the United States expected the March 11 meeting in Saudi Arabia to lead to significant progress in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

According to him, the prospects of Washington resuming the provision of intelligence to Kiev will be one of the topics of discussion in Jeddah. At the same time, Witkoff admitted that the United States has not suspended the transfer of intelligence information to Kiev, which, according to Washington, is necessary for Ukrainian defense. US President Donald Trump said on March 9 that the United States had almost resumed providing Ukraine with intelligence.
