BERLIN, March 11. /TASS/. German officers halted a passenger train and evacuated about 340 people from it as a man threatened conductors with a knife, the Bild newspaper reported.
On Tuesday, a man of Afghan origin threatened conductors of the Cologne - Berlin passenger train "with a knife and other hazardous items," Bild said.
The train was halted in the small town of Gifhorn, Lower Saxony, and the troublemaker was detained by police. All passengers were disembarked to the forecourt over the threat "dangerous objects" in the train. Later, the police searched the train but found nothing suspicious.
The incident resulted in no casualties. The passengers were transferred to Wolfsburg so that they could continue their journey towards Berlin by rail.
