LONDON, March 10. /TASS/. London hopes that intelligence sharing with Ukraine will resume following a meeting between US and Ukrainian delegations, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said during his phone talk with US President Donald Trump.
"The Prime Minister said he hoped there would be a positive outcome to the talks that would enable US aid and intelligence sharing to be restarted," Starmer’s office said in a statement.
The head of the UK government also informed about latest phone conversations between UK and Ukrainian officials, assuring the US leader that the sides were committed to the idea of a lasting peace.
"The Prime Minister said that UK officials had been speaking to Ukraine officials over the weekend and they remain committed to a lasting peace," the statement says.
It also says that Starmer and Trump also spoke about the bilateral economic deal.
The US-Ukrainian negotiations in Saudi Arabia are expected to take place on March 11. The US side will be represented by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz, and special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The Ukrainian delegation will be led by Zelensky’s chief of staff Andrey Yermak, Foreign Minister Andrey Sibiga and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Special envoy Witkoff told the Fox News Television a few hours earlier that the United States expects the upcoming March 11 meeting in Saudi Arabia to lead to significant progress in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the prospects of Washington resuming the provision of intelligence to Kiev will be one of the topics of discussion in Jeddah. At the same time, Witkoff admitted that the United States has not suspended the transfer of intelligence information to Kiev, which, according to Washington, is necessary for Ukrainian defense. US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the United States had almost resumed providing Ukraine with intelligence.
