Zelensky says US, Ukrainian negotiators to resume talks

According to the earlier reports, US and Ukrainian teams are set to meet in Saudi Arabia on March 12

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky said US and Ukrainian negotiating teams are resuming work and planning a meeting next week.

"The Ukrainian and American teams have resumed work, and we hope to have a meaningful meeting next week," he said, Obshchestvennoye television reported.

Axios reporter Barak Ravid said earlier on Thursday, citing sources, that US and Ukrainian teams are set to meet in Saudi Arabia on March 12.

On Wednesday, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said Washington was in touch with Kiev on the place, date and makeup of delegations for their talks. He did not name a specific time.

On February 28, Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump at the White House. Zelensky interjected when Trump spoke and also made rude remarks to members of the media. Trump scolded Zelensky for showing disrespect, while US Vice President JD Vance said Zelensky had never thanked the country for all the support provided to Kiev. Zelensky was ultimately asked to leave the White House. A news conference scheduled to follow the meeting was canceled. The countries didn’t sign a deal on minerals.

It was then reported that Washington halted military aid to Kiev. Trump said during a Congress speech on Tuesday that he had received a message from Zelensky that expressed his readiness to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
