At least 15 children die from hypothermia in Gaza Strip — TV

According to the broadcaster, limited shelter and plummeting temperatures, "have turned winter into a deadly threat" for hundreds of Palestinian families

DUBAI, February 27. /TASS/. At least 15 children have died from hypothermia in the Gaza Strip this season, the Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported.

According to the broadcaster, limited shelter and plummeting temperatures, "have turned winter into a deadly threat" for hundreds of Palestinian families.

Al Jazeera points out that people across Gaza are facing an urgent need for basic necessities, blankets and heating equipment for their homes, while the Israeli authorities maintain restrictions on the supplies of humanitarian aid and fuel to the enclave.

Earlier reports said that six Palestinian infants had died in Gaza City and Khan Younis. Doctors from the Friends of the Patient Charitable Hospital say that thousands of refugees in the enclave are unable to keep their homes warm, which leads to numerous cases of hypothermia, particularly among children.
