TEHRAN, February 25. /TASS/. Iran sees no possibility of resuming negotiations with the United States as long as Washington continues to use the language of threats and pressure, said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
"Iran's position is absolutely clear. We will not negotiate under threats and pressure. There is currently no possibility for a direct dialogue between us and the United States on the issue of the nuclear program," he said at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
Previously, advisor to the Commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite army units) Hossein Taeb said that those who support negotiating with the United States should pay attention to the fate of Ukraine, which, accepting Washington's help, now finds itself in a mountain of debt.
On February 7, Iran's supreme leader ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that negotiations with the United States could not be conducted, because Washington had already deceived his country once: the US signed a nuclear deal in 2015, did not fulfill its terms, did not lift anti-Iranian sanctions and terminated this agreement unilaterally in 2018.
