PARIS, February 16. /TASS/. The European Union doesn’t have a clear position on territorial concession Ukraine is supposed to make to have the conflict settled, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said.
"We have no clear position on territorial aspect. It’s up to the Ukrainians to decide about a compromise they are ready for," he said in an interview with the France Inter radio station.
Touching on the negotiating process, Barrot noted that "Europe will be involved in discussions this way or another." In his words, "it is the European Union that is to provide Kiev with security guarantees."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg said that the US administration may finalize its peace settlement plan for the Ukrainian conflict within several days or weeks. However, he said that the European Union will not take part in talks on Ukraine due to realistic considerations.
