"Hopefully there'll never be a time where we need those weapons," US president said

WASHINGTON, February 14. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said he would like to hold a meeting with Russia and China to discuss nuclear arsenal reduction.

"The meeting I want to have first is a meeting with China and a meeting with Russia on slowing down, stopping and reducing nuclear weapons, in particular," he told reporters in the White House on Thursday.

"We already have so many. You could destroy the world 50 times over 100 times over, and here we are building new nuclear weapons, and they're building nuclear weapons, and China's building nuclear weapons," the American leader went on.

"And we're all spending a lot of money that we could be spending on other things that are actually hopefully much more productive. Hopefully there'll never be a time where we need those weapons," he concluded.
