NEW YORK, January 22. /TASS/. Over 24 mln viewers watched the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president on January 20, the Nielsen media audience measurement firm said.

According to its estimates, an average of 24.6 mln viewers tuned in to watch the Inauguration Day events between 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET. (3:30 p.m. on January 20 - 12:00 a.m. on January 21 GMT).

Fifteen networks aired coverage of the events.

According to Nielsen’s data, Joe Biden’s inauguration attracted 33.8 mln viewers in 2021, while viewership stood at some 31 mln when Trump first came into office in 2017.
