TUNIS, December 1. /TASS/. The Syrian and Russian armed forces have intensified precision strikes on terrorists' positions, their movement and supply lines, eliminating dozens of militants as a result, the Syrian General Command said in a statement.
"The Syrian and Russian aviation intensified precision strikes on the terrorists' lines of movement, their positions, headquarters and warehouses of weapons and ammunition. As a result of direct hits, dozens of them were killed and injured," the General Command said in a statement posted on its Facebook (a social media site banned in Russia since it is owned by Meta corporation deemed extremist by the Russian authorities).
The General Command also said that additional reinforcements of the Syrian Armed Forces have arrived in Hama province to support the army's offensive in the area.
"Additional military reinforcements of our armed forces, including manpower, heavy weapons and rocket launchers, arrived in the north of Hama [province] to support the offensive of our armed forces in this area in light of the mass flight of members of armed formations," the General Command said in a statement.
Earlier, the Sham FM radio station reported that dozens of militants of the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (outlawed in Russia) and affiliated formations were eliminated as a result of Syrian and Russian strikes on the terrorists' headquarters in the city of Idlib.
According to the Syrian General Organization of Radio and TV, during the "three days of the Syrian army's confrontation with Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists," the number of militants killed "approached a thousand."
The Syrian military command said on November 28 that units of the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group "launched a large-scale attack on a broad front" on the morning of November 27. According to the statement, the terrorists attempted to attack "the villages and towns protected by the Syrian army, as well as military facilities." On November 30, the Syrian army said it was forced to regroup its forces while repelling a terrorist attack in Aleppo to save the lives of civilians and servicemen, and was preparing for a counterattack.
Syrian President Bashar Assad said in a conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan that the country is capable of defeating terrorists with the help of allies and friends.
