BERLIN, November 19. /TASS/. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes that now is not the right time to talk about peace in Ukraine.

"Everyone in Germany or elsewhere in Europe should finally realize that now is not the right time to talk about peace in Ukraine," the DPA news agency quoted him as saying. Pistorius claimed that Chancellor Olaf Scholz's phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin did not affect Russia's position.

"I think it was not as effective as we all hoped," the minister said.

Scholz called Putin on November 15. Previously, the two leaders held a phone conversation on December 2, 2022. According to the Kremlin, the recent talk focused on the crisis in Ukraine, the Middle East, and bilateral relations between Russia and Germany. The president and the chancellor agreed that their aides would be in touch.
