DOHA, November 8. /TASS/. Qatar's leadership has a balanced approach to the conflict in Ukraine and believes that the West should take Moscow's security concerns into account, Russian Ambassador to Qatar Dmitry Dogadkin told TASS in an interview.
"Qatar stands in an equidistant position on the Ukrainian conflict, advocating for an early resolution of the crisis through political and diplomatic means. Qatari partners view the situation realistically and recognize that a settlement by inflicting a military defeat on Russia, which the collective West seeks, is impossible and, most importantly, is not in their interests. Rather, they are interested in a real multipolar world and agree that the West should take Russia's valid security concerns into consideration," the ambassador emphasized.
"In practical terms, we are in constant communication with our Qatari colleagues, conveying our perspective to them. They are open to dialogue and determined to have a constructive exchange of views," he added. According to the diplomat, the Russian side is aware that Doha "maintains dialogue with Western countries as well." He drew attention to the fact that for a mediator like Qatar, "maintaining contacts with all opposing parties is essential for fulfilling its functions."
