WASHINGTON, November 6. /TASS/. The US foreign policy community recognizes that Washington’s current Ukraine policy is not on a sustainable track, an American expert who asked to remain anonymous told TASS, commenting on the November 5 presidential election.
"Donald Trump has expressed a desire to swiftly drive the Ukraine conflict towards a negotiated conclusion, though his plan for doing so is not clear and would potentially face hurdles beyond his control," he pointed out. "Kamala Harris has largely avoided the Ukraine issue, indicating at least acquiescence to the Biden administration's current approach," the expert added.
"Yet there is a broader public recognition in the US foreign policy community that Ukraine's war effort is presently not on a sustainable track, and this recognition is likely to figure more prominently in the policy debate regardless of who wins," he noted.
The 2024 United States elections took place on November 5. Nationwide, American citizens headed to the polls to elect the President and Vice President of the United States, all representatives to the House and one-third of the senators, as well as governors of 11 states and two US territories. The race for the White House pitted incumbent Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris against former Republican President Donald Trump.
