MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. Head of the internationally recognized government of Yemen Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak arrived in Moscow with an official visit under an invitation from the Russian side. His flight landed in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport.
This is bin Mubarak’s first foreign visit as the Prime Minister. He was appointed the head of the government on February 5, while retaining his office as Foreign Minister, which he has been occupying since late 2020.
It is expected that, while in Moscow, he will hold negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko. It is also possible that he will meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Yemeni embassy in Russia told TASS.
Ahead of the visit, the Saba news agency reported that, during the planned negotiations, bin Mubarak intends to raise issues of bilateral relations, certain aspects of regional agenda and "Russia’s role in assisting in establishment of peace and security in Yemen."
