Iran executes four members of sabotage group linked to Israel’s Mossad — media

DUBAI, December 29. /TASS/. Iranian authorities have carried out the death sentence against four out of ten members of an Israel-linked sabotage group, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported, citing a statement by a court in the Islamic republic’s province of West Azerbaijan.

"Four members of a sabotage group linked to the Zionist regime (Israel - TASS), who through their actions [attempted to undermine] the country's security under the leadership of officers of Israel's Mossad intelligence service, were hanged this morning," ISNA quoted the court's statement as saying.

Nasser Atabati, chief judge of West Azerbaijan Province, said on October 24 that Iranian intelligence officers had detained a group of ten people. According to Tehran's version, their main mission was to identify those members of Iran's intelligence services and armed forces who were working on behalf of Israel. They are alleged to have had direct contact via video communication with Mossad officers.
