MINSK, December 14. /TASS/. The operation of Western intelligence agencies in Belarus becomes increasingly aggressive, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.
"We see the activity of foreign intelligence services on our territory. Their methods of operation become increasingly aggressive. They insert not just spies, but terrorist agents here. They seek to create extremist cells," he said during the meeting of CIS heads of intelligence and security agencies in Minsk.
He provided the terror attack against the A-50 early warning plane at the Machulischi Airstrip near Minsk, the attempted terror attacks against facilities in Grodno, the attempted detonations of rail tracks in different parts of the country as examples. He also pointed out the creation and establishment of armed militias from members of Belarusian opposition abroad.
"Serious threats to us have also emerged in the informational area," the Belarusian President noted. "This includes the destructive influence on the people, the dissemination of fake news, fabricated news, as well as cyberattacks against the critical infrastructure of state agencies."
