Tokayev says Putin's official visit to Kazakhstan has historical significance

The Kazakh leader pointed out that Astana and Moscow have preserved and multiplied the main wealth: brotherly feelings and good neighborly relations between the two peoples

ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Astana that the Russian leader’s visit has historical significance.

"In general, your visit has a very great political and, one could say, historical significance. Everyone knows that Kazakhstan and Russia are allies, strategic partners. We are united by strong bonds of friendship, common history and close spiritual ties," Tokayev told Putin.

He pointed out that Kazakhstan and Russia have preserved and multiplied the main wealth: brotherly feelings and good neighborly relations between the two peoples. "I note with satisfaction that today our interaction is successful," the Kazakh president said.

He emphasized that Putin arrived in Kazakhstan on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness and Alliance in the 21st Century, which was signed in Yekaterinburg on November 11, 2013. "This is a comprehensive document that is an important legal basis for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia," Tokayev said.
