WASHINGTON, November 2. /TASS/. At least 1,000 people, including US citizens will be able to leave the Gaza Strip on November 1, US President Joe Biden said in his speech in Minnesota.

"American citizens were able to exit today as part of the first group of probably over 1,000. We'll see more of this process going on in the coming days," Biden said, adding that this has become possible due to Washington’s diplomatic interaction with partners in the Middle East.

Biden underscored that Washington continues to exert efforts for a "significant increase of deliveries of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip." Meanwhile, he reaffirmed that Israel has "right to defend itself," and noted "the need to comply with international humanitarian law and to protect the civilian population."

Previously, Biden states that US citizens will be able to leave the Gaza Strip on Wednesday and the upcoming days, according to the achieved agreements. UN Secretary General’s Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said earlier that about 500 foreigners were authorized to leave the Gaza Strip.
