Russian IT watchdog demanded that Google stop spreading anti-Russian threats on YouTube

According to Roskomnadzor, YouTube users are being shown advertisement videos with calls to disable Russian and Belarusian railroad communications

MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Russian Federal Agency for Supervision in Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) contacted Google, demanding to stop the dissemination of threats against Russians on YouTube, the watchdog said in its Telegram channel Friday.

"On March 18, Roskomnadzor demanded that Google LLC immediately stopped the dissemination of threats against citizens of the Russian Federation on YouTube. […] The dissemination of such calls clearly demonstrates the anti-Russian position of Google LLC, an American company," the statement reads.

According to the watchdog, YouTube users are being shown advertisement videos with calls to disable Russian and Belarusian railroad communications.

"Such actions of YouTube administrations are terrorist in nature and threaten lives and health of Russian citizens," the agency underscored.

In the recent weeks, websites owned by Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC have embarked on a deliberate campaign on discrediting of Russian servicemen, mass media, public figures and the state in general. Such actions not only violate the Russian law, but also violate common moral norms, the agency said.
