China opposes expansion of military blocs at expense of third states’ security — Wang Yi

According to the Chinese top diplomat, the international community must strengthen cooperation on biological security, security of the Internet, data and the AI, as well as in other areas

BEIJING, September 26. /TASS/. Beijing opposes arbitrary expansion of military blocs, which negatively affects security of other states, says Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister, Director of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Foreign Affairs Commission.

"We need to establish a favorable environment for universal security. It is extremely important to advocate a common, complex, joint and sustainable security concept, to insist on settling disagreements and disputed between state via dialogue and consultations, to mutually respect legitimate security concerns, to oppose arbitrary expansion of military blocs and compression of security space around other states," the official said during a briefing in the Chinese State Council.

According to Wang Yi, the international community must strengthen cooperation on biological security, security of the Internet, data and the AI, as well as in other areas.

"It is necessary to jointly work on risk prevention," he added.

On Tuesday, the Chinese government published a document titled "A Global Community of Shared Future: China's Proposals and Actions." It outlines Beijing’s position on future global development.
