Tokayev, Zelensky have first phone conversation since July 2022

The last phone conversation between the two leaders was reported in July 2022

ASTANA, February 16. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky discussing humanitarian ties between the two countries, the press service of the Kazakh leader reported on Thursday.

"At the initiative of the Ukrainian side, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The leaders discussed humanitarian issues between Kazakhstan and Ukraine," its statement said.

The last phone conversation between the two leaders was reported in July 2022. Then they discussed, in particular, the Ukrainian grain deal. The Kazakh president also stated the necessity to diplomatically settle the Ukrainian conflict.
