New York Times publishes video of US national’s death in Artyomovsk

The video shows how a group of people, one of whom was in camouflage, is hit by a rocket, and there is an unmarked car nearby, which the newspaper also admits

NEW YORK, February 14. /TASS/. US national Pete Reed died in the city of Artyomovsk, with his death believed to have been captured on video, The New York Times reported Tuesday, also publishing the video in question.

The video shows a group of people - one of the wearing camouflage fatigues - getting hit by a missile next to a car without any visible insignia. The newspaper does not disclose how exactly it obtained the video.

The NYT claims that the missile visible on the video possibly belongs to a Russian-made Kornet anti-tank system, but admits that there is not enough evidence to determine who fired it.

ABC also reported this incident today, although it took place on February 2, and was reported by CNN on February 4.

Reed previously served in the US Marine Corps. His death was reported last week by Global Response Medicine, founded by Reed. The organization claims that reed was a volunteer medic. The statement also admits that Reed was recently working in another organization - Global Outreach Doctors. The US Department of State confirmed that a US national died in Ukraine, without specifying their name, circumstances of death and in what quality they were present in Ukraine.
