CAIRO, February 10. /TASS/. Syria is calling on the international community to demand that the US cancel all sanctions on the country, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday, according to the government’s news agency SANA.
"Syria is calling on all countries and international organizations that have supported the Syrian people in its trials and tribulations caused by the devastating earthquake, and in its ongoing fight against terrorism, to demand the removal of the inhumane and illegal blockade that was imposed on the Syrian people unconditionally, without any conditions," the Foreign Ministry said, commenting on the US decision to lift sanctions for six months with respect to transactions related to the provision of assistance in connection with the earthquake.
"Syria is calling on the US to immediately, without any conditions or exceptions, cease the unilateral coercive measures that were imposed on the Syrian people," the statement said.
