KIEV, March 13. /TASS/. Ukrainian gas reserves amount to 9.5 billion cubic meters, with production continuing at all sites outside the zone of hostilities, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has said.

"Gas reserves currently [stand] at around 9.5 billion cubic meters. Gas imports from Hungary, Slovenia and Poland continue. Ukrgasdobycha continues to extract gas at all sites except for those located directly at the frontline," he was quoted as saying in a statement, posted on the Ukrainian government’s website.

In his words, Ukraine’s four nuclear power plants, as well as all hydroelectric power plants and cogeneration power stations on its territory, continue to function.

"There are agreements with Poland to supply additional batches of coal by rail. In order to use coal rationally, the government decided that Ukrainian cogeneration stations can buy gas at a discount," the premier said.

Ukraine has enough food to last a few more months, Shmygal said.

"While the martial law is in force, the government has prohibited or limited exports of critically important foodstuffs, of goods that are vital for national food security, including wheat, buckwheat, meat, eggs, butter, sugar and so on. So far, balance sheets indicate that Ukraine has a sufficient supply of basic food for the coming months," he said in a statement, posted on the Ukrainian government’s website.

"But we also need to think about the future," he said, adding that the authorities were implementing "a plan of supporting the sowing season, which is due to begin soon wherever possible."
