KIEV, April 22. /TASS/. Incumbent Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko racked up 54.73% of the votes cast on the polling stations outside of Ukraine in the second round of the presidential elections, the Ukrainian Central Election Commission reported on Monday having counted 100% of the protocols.
The biggest support Poroshenko enjoyed in Vietnam (79.45%) and the Netherlands (74.61%). Zelensky was the favorite among the Ukrainian citizens in Cuba (84.88 %), Brazil (75%) and Estonia (72.29%).
101 electoral districts were opened for the Ukrainians staying abroad on the day of the runoff, 59,380 people cast their votes.
The Ukrainians in Russia couldn’t exercise their right to vote in the elections, as on December 31, 2018 the Ukrainian Election Commission disbanded all five voting stations in Russia: in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. The Commission suggested that Ukrainian citizens in Russia enjoy their voting rights at the polling stations located in Georgia, Kazakhstan and Finland, practically cutting them off from the electoral process.
The votes continue to be counted in Ukraine. With 94.6% of the protocols processed, Vladimir Zelensky gets 73.18% of the votes, while incumbent President Pyotr Poroshenko receives 24.49%.
