Doha expects Putin to visit Qatar, says ambassador

The invitation fot the Russian leader has already been conveyed

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Doha expects Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Qatar, the emir’s invitation has been delivered, Qatar’s Ambassador to Moscow Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah said in an interview with TASS.

"We have conveyed an invitation from His Highness the Emir to Mister President. We expect Russia to give a response as to when the long-awaited visit will take place," the ambassador said.

Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah pointed out that Qatar and Russia "constantly exchange visits at various levels." "Delegations from Doha travel to Moscow rather often," he said, adding that "not so long ago, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin paid us a visit, as well as Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin and Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev." "We do maintain close contacts," he noted.

The ambassador was hopeful that those ties would grow even stronger in every area, particularly in the field of politics, economy and security.
