Russia’s Ovechkin notches hatty in NHL match

This is his 32nd hat trick in the career

WASHINGTON, February 24. /TASS/. Washington Capitals’ captain Alexander Ovechkin scored a hat trick in a regular match of the National Hockey League (NHL) against Edmonton Oilers hockey club.

This is his 32nd hat trick in the career. Ovechkin is now fifth in the history together with Phil Esposito by the number of hat tricks made.

Ovechkin is second in NHL history with 882 goals, trailing only to Wayne Gretzky of Canada, who scored 894 goals throughout his NHL career.

The 39-year-old Ovechkin is under contract with the Washington Capitals through 2026.
