Russian athletes win gold in World Aquatics short medley relay race

BUDAPEST, December 11. /TASS/. Russian athletes won gold medals in the World Aquatics Swimming Championship in 4x50 mixed medley relay in Budapest.

The Russian team was represented by Miron Lifintsev (backstroke), Kirill Prigoda (breaststroke), Arina Surkova (butterfly) and Daria Trofimova (freestyle). The athletes won the race in 1 minute 35.36 seconds, setting the new Europe record.

The silver medal was taken by the Canadian team, and the bronze was won by the US swimmers.

Previously, Lifintsev won gold medal in the 100 meter backstroke race. In November, the World Aquatics international swimming federation withdrew the ban for Russian and Belarusian athletes.

27 Russian swimmers compete in neutral status in Budapest. The tournament will end on December 15.
