MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. The Russian Premier League (RPL) will render the necessary assistance to football club Anzhi to finish playing matches of the regular season in case the club ends up in a critical financial situation, RPL President Sergei Pryadkin told TASS on Tuesday.
"We will try to render our support for Anzhi FC," Pryadkin said in an interview with TASS. "It can be done at the expense of the income, which the league is about to receive. Many clubs voiced their support as well."
Anzhi FC, the football club from Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, is experiencing financial difficulties at the moment. The club’s management turned to the authorities of Dagestan at the beginning of the season asking for financial help, but did not receive the support.
The club was denied on Monday an access to the Anzhi-Arena in the city of Kaspiisk for a training session before their regular match since Anzhi FC had not repaid a debt to the owners of the stadium.
Oleg Flegontov, the club’s general director, announced earlier to TASS that the club was likely to withdraw from the national tournament after the winter break.
