Russia's Zagitova sets world record in short program at figure skating Grand Prix

MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova has set the world record in the short program at the Moscow stage of the ISU (International Skating Union) Grand Prix. She earned 80.78 points.

Zagitova, a gold medalist of the 2018 Olympic Games in South Korea's PyeongChang, beat her own record of 79.93 points set at the pre-season tournament in Germany's Oberstdorf on Septmeber 27.

Another Russian figure skater, Sofia Samodurova, is in the second place with 67.40 points, followed by Switzerland's Alexia Paganini with 63.43 points.

Figure skaters will perform their free skating programs in women's singles on Saturday.
