MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russia’s Lokomotiv Moscow lost 1:4 to Portugal’s Porto on Tuesday night during the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The goals for Porto were scored by Hector Herrera (2’), Moussa Marega (42’), Jesus Corona (67’) and Otavio (93’). Jefferson Farfan netted the ball for Lokomotiv on the 59th minute.
It was Lokomotiv’s fourth Champions League defeat in a row, after being beaten by Turkey’s Galatasaray (0:3, away), Germany’s Schalke (0:1, at home) and Porto (1:3, at home). With zero points, the Russian team lost all hopes for the Champions League playoff after Schalke’s victory over Galatasaray (2:0).
With two rounds left before the end of the group stage, Porto leads the Group D standings with 10 points, followed by Schalke (8 points), Galatasaray (4 points) and Lokomotiv (0 points). Two best teams in the group will make it into the playoff, the holder of the third place will be given a chance to compete in the Last 16 of the UEFA Europa League.
In the next round, due on November 28, Lokomotiv will face Galatasaray and Porto will take on Schalke.
