GLASGOW, August 7. /TASS/. Russian synchronized swimmers Alexander Maltsev and Mayya Gurbanberdiyeva won gold in Tuesday in the duet free mixed routine at the 2018 European Championships in Glasgow.
The Russian pair performed their program to earn the highest grade of 92.4000 points. The duet from Italy earned 90.7333 points to win the silver and the pair from Spain took the bronze with the result of 85.4333 points.
The team of Russia’s synchronized swimmers has already won seven gold medals in various routines at the championship. The competitions in the synchronized swimming will be completed later on Tuesday with the solo free routine.
The 2018 European Championship is the first multi-sport event uniting different European championships and is held between August 2 and 12 in Scotland’s Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as in Germany’s Berlin.
The European multi-event championship include competitions in such sports as swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, track cycling, road cycling, mountain biking, BMX, rowing and triathlon, artistic gymnastics, athletics, diving, golf.
