THE HAGUE, February 5. /TASS/. A woman staying at a hotel in the Dutch city of Vlissingen in the province of Zeeland was startled to find a seal taking a nap in her room, the Omroep Zeeland TV channel reported.
According to its information, the woman checked into a room at the Pier 7 hotel, located on the beach. When she went for a walk with her dog, she left the door to her room open. Upon returning to the room, she saw that a seal had crawled inside. She reported this to hotel staff, who called the Zeeland animal protection service. Animal experts came and carefully removed the seal from the room . They are now preparing to release it back into the wild.
"At first I thought it was a prank. It took me a while to realize it was legit," a hotel employee told the TV channel. According to him, the seal was "very still, as if it just needed some rest." Zoologists from the regional animal protection service explained that gray seals often find "unexpected places to rest," sometimes dozing off on private terraces or even in the middle of the road.
