Human rights commissioner says Russia-Ukraine prisoner swaps to become more frequent

Tatyana Moskalkova also said that she was in constant contact with the servicemen's families and knew how their loved ones waited, hoped and believed that they would return

MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Russia hopes that prisoner exchanges with Ukraine will become more frequent, human rights commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova said.

"Russia and Ukraine have exchanged prisoners of war on a 150-for-150 basis. This was possible thanks to the great work of the Russian Defense Ministry and our special services. For our part, we continue to work and hope that this year the exchanges will take place more often," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Moskalkova also said that she was in constant contact with the servicemen's families and knew how their loved ones waited, hoped and believed that they would return, and expressed admiration for their courage.

Earlier, the Defense Ministry said that Russia had returned 150 servicemen from Ukrainian captivity in exchange for 150 captured soldiers of Ukraine’s army. The ministry said all the released servicemen would be taken to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation.
