MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson has been widely covered by English-language media and social networks, according to the Kribrum company’s research commissioned by TASS.
As many as 45 English-language media outlets with an audience of about 45 mln published over 70 articles as of 4:00 p.m. Moscow time (12 p.m. GMT) on December 6. Notably, the majority of the articles (over 30) were published in the United Kingdom, with the list topped by the Daily Mail and the Guardian.
More than 300 people made about 1,500 posts on English-language social media platforms (other than Facebook - banned in Russia - and X) with a total audience of 16 mln. Users from the US and Ukraine were the most engaged.
More than half (52%) of authors and users were positive about the interview, noting that Russia was not an enemy to the American people and commending the top Russian diplomat’s. They also criticized the US administration's policy, saying that Washington should stop escalating the situation.
According to Kribrum, Ukrainian users, as well as US President-elect Donald Trump’s opponents in the US, also showed their high involvement in the topic, spreading negativity about Russia, Lavrov and Carslon, and slamming the latter as propagandist.
