Unemployment in Russia down 20% in past six years — Deputy PM Golikova

Real earnings increased by more than 30% in the reporting period, Tatyana Golikova noted

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Unemployment in Russia fell by 20% over the past six years, with the average annual number of employed persons standing at 73.6 mln people, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told reporters.

"We have seen systemic changes on the labor market recently. Over the past six years unemployment fell by 20%. The average annual number of employed persons amounted to 73.6 mln people," she said.

Real earnings increased by more than 30% in the reporting period, Golikova noted, adding that "in 2023 [real earnings] gained 7.8% compared with 2022."
