Among the president’s picks are cards from a girl from St. Petersburg who dreams of being a news anchor, an eight-year-old boy whose wish is to visit Lake Baikal, and a boy from the Kostroma Region who would like nothing more than to visit the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.

One of the volunteers who helped Putin take cards off the Christmas tree noted that "many wishes" would come true. "Great!" Putin said.
