Global warming likely to be limited by three degrees — expert

This year has become the hottest throughout the history and the humankind experiences a climatic collapse, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said

MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. The global warming will be most probably limited by three degrees by the end of this century, climatologist Alexey Kokorin told TASS.

This year has become the hottest throughout the history and the humankind experiences a climatic collapse, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said in the address to participants in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) opened in Dubai.

"The real scenario is that the global warming will stop at the level of 2.5 degrees and then there will be a very slow trend to three degrees. Now we have the warming of 1.2 degrees from the pre-industrial level (the second half of the 19th century). It means the same figure will be added from this level by the year of 2100," Kokorin said.
