Russia’s health ministry ready to send specialists to help victims of earthquakes

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake rocked Turkey’s southeastern Kahramanmaras province early on Monday

MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Russia’s health ministry is ready to send specialists to Turkey and Syria to help those affected by the devastating earthquakes, Alexey Kuznetsov, aide to the health minister, told TASS on Monday.

"Naturally, we are ready to send specialists to help the victims, if we receive such requests," he said.

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake rocked Turkey’s southeastern Kahramanmaras province early on Monday. According to the latest reports, 912 people have been killed. The quake also hit the northern and northwestern regions in neighboring Syria, killing 371 people and injuring more than 1,000. Several hours later, another powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 shook Turkey. This was followed by 5.9 magnitude aftershocks.
