MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded the honorary title of City of Labor Valor to nine Russian cities, according to a decree published on Tuesday.
The decree followed a proposal that Gennady Krasnikov, the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, submitted to Putin at a meeting of a committee to organize Victory Day festivities.
According to the decree, the cities of Astrakhan, Vologda, Gorlovka, Zlatoust, Kaspiysk, Lugansk, Norilsk, Orsk and Yakutsk were awarded the title for "for the significant contribution of city residents to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, while showing mass labor heroism and dedication."
