Source reveals how many people arrived in Russia from Ukraine and Donbass

There are more than 34,000 people, including 11,000 children, in 523 temporary shelters on the territory of 53 regions of Russia

TASS, May 11. Russia has received more than 1.2 million refugees from Ukraine and Donbass, a source in the power structures told TASS on Wednesday.

"More than 1.2 million people, including 211,000 children, crossed the Russian border. Most of them are DPR and LPR citizens, as well as Russians," the source said.

There are more than 34,000 people, including 11,000 children, in 523 temporary shelters on the territory of 53 regions of the Russian Federation. Another temporary shelter will soon be deployed in the DPR.

Internally displaced persons in the Russian Federation continue to receive lump-sum allowances of 10,000 rubles (almost $145.7) per person. A total of 1 billion 846 million rubles has already been paid. In the territory of Ukraine, pensioners and state employees have been paid more than 107 million rubles. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has also delivered almost 16,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Donbass and Ukraine.
