MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Russia’s Investigative Committee has established the names of 24 mercenaries from Georgia, who are fighting in Ukraine in Mamuka Mamulashvili’s Georgian National Legion and in other armed groups, the IC’s press-service told the media on Wednesday.
Earlier, Mamulashvili faced charges under the Russian Criminal Code’s article 359 (recruitment of mercenaries and participation in an armed conflict) and article 282 (incitement of hostility towards military servicemen as a social group).
"The investigation has found that Mamulashvili has created an armed group on Ukrainian territory, took the position of its leader and involved 24 Georgian mercenaries in its activity. By now, the names of 24 mercenaries have been established," the news release reads.
The persons in question continue to participate in combat operations in Ukraine against the forces of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and the Russian army.
According to the IC, all of them are Georgian citizens: Levan Fifiya, Lasha Rukhaya, Levon Airapetyan, Vasil Alibegashvili, Erekle Amiranashvili, Veka Apresovi, Elgudzh Bagration, Vakhtang Barabadze, Georgy Baramidze, Beka Basilaya, Zurab Bedoshvili, Gela Belashadze, Mikhail Bendeliani, Akaki Berianidze, Giya Beriashvili, Dem Bezhikelashvili, Nika Bluashvili, Ratti Burduli, Gela Eradze, Tamaz Chikovani, Badri Chopliani, Ruslan Davitadze, Mikhail Demetrashvili and Shot Demetrashvili.
