Over 80 teenagers detained at Moscow rally on Jan 31, says children’s rights commissioner

MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. Law enforcement officers detained over 80 teenagers at an unauthorized rally in Moscow on January 31, Moscow’s Children’s Rights Commissioner Olga Yaroslavskaya told TASS on Tuesday.

"According to information from law enforcement agencies, more than 80 teenagers were detained and brought to Moscow police stations on January 31. As far as I know, nearly 30 of them are college students," she pointed out.

Unauthorized rallies took place in Moscow and other big Russian cities on January 23 and 31. Police issued warnings that those participating in such activities could be held accountable. Moscow’s children’s rights commissioner said on Monday that she had not received any complaints from parents following the January 31 rally.
