MARIUPOL, January 30. /TASS/. The principle of interchangeability is part of the mandatory training program for Battlegroup East fighters, Bura, an instructor with the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Guards Combined Arms Army of Battlegroup East, told TASS.
"If a combatant, say, a grenade launcher operator, is knocked out, any soldier can handle the grenade launcher. If a machine gun is knocked out, any soldier can handle the machine gun. Everything is based on interchangeability. This is a mandatory training program for fighters," Bura noted.
The instructor added that despite versatility, combat training is still divided by specialty. "The only thing is, they concentrate on it. For instance, a grenade launcher operator fires more shots [from a grenade launcher], he has a particular specialty. As for a machine gunner, he works more with a machine gun. But otherwise, nothing ever gets lost. We work with all types of small arms," Bura said.
