ST. PETERSBURG, May 19. /TASS/. During the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF), Kirill Logvinov, Director of the Department of International Organizations at the Russian Foreign Ministry, emphasized that the Western minority must finally cease misusing the UN Charter.
He stated, "For the Western minority, which currently finds itself marginalized amid ongoing transformation processes and in a rather humiliating position, the revival of the United Nations presents an opportunity to re-engage with major global politics." Logvinov further cautioned, "However, to set the organization on the right course, the West must first and foremost abandon its persistent abuse of the UN Charter – irrespective of the pretexts it may invoke."
Adding that Russia is committed to fostering international cooperation, Logvinov affirmed, "Russia will work to unite efforts with any nations committed to restoring universal respect for the principles enshrined in the UN Charter."
