Kiev forces attacked Russian troops in Kharkov Region almost every hour during ceasefire

According to Vitaly Kiselyov, there was no real Easter ceasefire in the Kupyansk area

MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. Ukrainian army units tried to launch assaults on Russian troops stationed near the Oskol River in the Kharkov Region almost every hour during the Easter truce, military expert Vitaly Kiselyov said.

"Not only was there no real Easter ceasefire in the Kupyansk area but intense clashes took place there. The enemy tried to storm the forward positions of our troops that have crossed the Oskol River and are moving south, towards Oskol. <...> They attempted to stage offensives on April 19, 20 and 21, night and day. It’s because they realize that they may soon lose their positions, so they tried to slow down our progress as much as possible," he told the SolovievLive TV channel.

On April 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a cessation of hostilities between 6:00 p.m. Moscow time (3:00 p.m. GMT) on April 19 and midnight on April 21 at a meeting with Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov. Putin called on Kiev to do the same. Gerasimov gave the relevant orders to all commanders of Russian battlegroups in the special military operation zone.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine committed 4,900 ceasefire violations. The ministry specified that in general, "the intensity of the enemy’s artillery attacks and military operations noticeably decreased along the entire frontline." The Russian Armed Forces resumed the special military operation after the ceasefire expired.
