Russia, Vietnam to sign documents during Communist Party chief’s visit to Moscow — Lavrov

The top Russian diplomat noted that the bilateral agenda of past talks addressed a number of practical issues "stemming from previous agreements between the leaders of the two countries"

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Moscow and Hanoi will sign a package of documents during Vietnamese Communist Party General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Moscow on May 9, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and top diplomat Bui Thanh Son.

"Comrade To Lam will pay an official visit to Russia. We have started the preparations for it today," he pointed out. "There is a very interesting program and a solid package of documents, which I hope will be successfully agreed upon and signed, thus significantly enriching the legal and contractual basis of our relations," he pointed out.

The top Russian diplomat noted that the bilateral agenda of past talks addressed a number of practical issues "stemming from previous agreements between the leaders of the two countries, including those reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Vietnam in 2024."

"Of course, we are interested in ensuring that the deep political dialogue, excellent relations based on long-standing traditions of friendship and solidarity continue to ensure progress in our cooperation in all areas for the benefit of the peoples of our countries," Lavrov stated.
