Beijing, Moscow set standard for relations between two great powers — Chinese vice premier

BOAO, MArch 27. /TASS/. China and Russia have set the standard for relations between two neighboring great powers and Beijing is ready to enhance strategic cooperation with Moscow, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexian said at a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk.

"Under the strategic guidance of [Chinese] President Xi Jinping and [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin, China-Russia relations in a new era have embarked on a path of rapid development, becoming the standard of relations between two neighboring great powers. Our leaders have communicated twice since the beginning of the year, outlining the guidelines for the further development of bilateral relations," he noted. "We are ready to work with our Russian partners in the spirit of the important agreements reached by the two heads of state, continuously deepening political trust, strengthening strategic ties and business cooperation for the sake of our own development and the prosperity of the two countries, thus ensuring greater certainty for the world and stability across the globe," Ding added.

Russia’s delegation at the meeting also included Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach and Ambassador to Beijing Igor Morgulov, while China’s delegation consisted, among others, of Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Deputy Finance Minister Liao Min.
