Sudzha liberation shows that Russia is achieving its goals — MFA

Maria Zakharova also noted President Vladimir Putin's remarks during his visit to the Kursk Region

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. The liberation of villages in the Kursk Region, which were previously seized by Ukrainian forces, underscores Russia's commitment to achieving its stated objectives, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.

During Thursday’s briefing, she referenced a report from the Defense Ministry, announcing the liberation of Sudzha and the villages of Melovoy and Podol in the Kursk Region. "This serves as a strong response to many questions. We are fulfilling the goals and objectives we set for ourselves. Our country is actively realizing these aims," she emphasized.

Zakharova also noted President Vladimir Putin's remarks during his visit to the Kursk Region. "These statements represent the benchmarks our people recognize. They guide our considerations, reflect our expectations, and embody what we are collectively striving to achieve."

Her comments came in response to inquiries regarding ongoing discussions about a proposed ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, and whether such discussions could be perceived as an attempt to mislead Russia, as had occurred with the Minsk agreements in the past.

On March 12, Putin visited one of the command centers of the Kursk group of the Russian Armed Forces, where he received a report from Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov on the successes of Russian troops in the Kursk area. He also reiterated the objective of decisively defeating the remaining elements of the Ukrainian armed forces in the region as soon as possible.
